)n Dec 3, 2009 i received an email about two abandoned skinny horses at the Ramona Animal
Shelter...The following day my mom and took a drive to see these two and yes the sight as bad,
made arrangements to pick them up the next day. I thought this shelter only housed dogs and
cats, boy was i surprised. They had goats, pigs, turtles, rabbits and other critters, the sight to
behold was a monster size steer...HUGE. Dec 5th my wonderful farrier Johnny and I took a ride
out to the shelter and picked up the horses. We arrived back at the ranch and since the farrier
was with me, hey lets at least get their feet done this way they have a few days to rest and get
to know their new home. They were troopers and not much of a fight was made,,,How could
they, they are so underweight it was more like whatever do as you wish. The following pictures
are intake photos, some may be hard to look at but this all needs to be documented, this way
we can also see the progress made by these two. We will have names for them soon but for
now it will be mare and gelding for the photos.
